Our Fundraisers

Guilty Pleasures

Guilty Pleasures is Alpha Omega’s signature once-per-term bake sale, hosted in the WLU Concourse to raise funds for Anselma House. Entirely baked and run by sisters, this sweet tradition brings together the Laurier community for a good cause one plate at a time.

Each term, the event takes on a seasonal twist: spooky and cozy vibes in the fall with Halloween and Thanksgiving treats, and a Valentine’s Day theme in the winter. Since its inception, Guilty Pleasures has become one of our most anticipated fundraisers, with sisters selling over 100 plates of baked goods every term.

Voices Empower: Walk to Break Silence

Each year, Alpha Omega proudly participates in the Voices Empower: Walk to Break the Silence, an annual advocacy walk hosted by Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region (WCSWR) in Uptown Waterloo. The 6KM walk is a powerful initiative to raise awareness about intimate partner violence, with the $6 registration fee representing the tragic statistic that every six days, a woman in Canada is killed by her intimate partner.

In the weeks leading up to the event, the sisterhood campaigns to raise awareness and support for the cause, encouraging our community to take action and walk alongside us. Our fundraising page typically runs from September through early December, and the walk serves as a meaningful reminder of why our support for Anselma House and WCSWR is so vital.

If you are interested in participating in this year's walk, taking place on 22 November 2025, please reach out to our Philanthropy Chair (ao.philanthropy.wlu@gmail.com).
